2005 - 2007 : Korea Environment Institute(KEI) 2008 - Current : Korea Environment & Resources Corporation(ENVICO)
In the first meeting of the SINGG in November, 2005, the Korea Environment Institute (KEI) was designated as the Secretariat of the SINGG and had successfully completed its work until the First Policy Consultation Forum of Seoul Initiative on Green Growth was held in Seoul in September, 2006.
Since Korea Environment and Resources Corporation (hereinafter ENVICO) was nominated as the hosting organization for the Second Policy Consultation Forum which was convened in Bangkok, Thailand in September, 2007, ENVICO has thereafter implemented the work of the Seoul Initiative Network on Green Growth. In the Second meeting of the SINGG in November, 2008, ENVICO was officially designated as the Secretariat of the SINGG.
ENVICO, established in 1980, had played a leading role in conducting resource-recycling policies. The policies it is now operating include EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility), electronic waste manifest management, waste charge system, system of waste reduction at works, all of which, as advanced environment policies, aim at building an effective resource recycling system.
In addition to the aforementioned work, ENVICO has
accumulated know-how to comprehensively manage waste,
equipped itself with various experiences in the field of environmental cooperation domestically and internationally,
successfully hosted the Second Policy Consultation Forum of the Seoul Initiative Network on Green Growth in 2007,
committed itself to stimulating sustainable economic growth in Asia and the Pacific as an affiliate organization to the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Korea,
played a leading role in introducing advanced environmental policies
