Korea and the Korea Institute of Public Finance.There were approximately 70 participants in the Forum. With this diversity comes a wide range of careers: high and senior offic
ials from the Ministry of Economic Development, Environment, Finance, Forestry, Natural Resources, and Planning, and their respec
tive specialized agencies from the 21 countries, each nation being a member in the Asia-Pacific region. Moreover, experts and repre
sentatives from academia, regional and international organizations, and other UN agencies also attended the forum. |

As a mean to promote the Green Growth, various ways of utilizing economic instruments were debated in the forum.
Presenters introduced the concept of economic instruments, and further focussed on its potency, experiences, and means to succe
ssful application to the country. In addition, participants had the opportunity to share their countries' current situation including the
imitations and the vision of economic instruments. All participants had agreed upon the significance on economic instruments and wer
e encouraged to take a step forward in achieving and in implementing the Green Growth objective goal. |

The secretariat of the Seoul Initiative Network on Green Growth (SINGG), UNESCAP and other international agencies will continue to
work on promoting and implementing on economic instruments for Green Growth via the expertise network created during the cours
e of the forum. |

As a follow-up on the overall the implementation of economic instruments progress for Green Growth and as to addressing needs for senior officials, the SINGG secretariat and UNESCAP will consider the following recommendations: |

Increased sharing of information and appropriate strategies regarding economic instruments both at regional and national
levels. |

The development of country specific economic instruments to promote Green Growth. |

Enhancing transparency and partnerships in establishing good governance and effective implementation of economic instruments. |

There is a need for further capacity-building for policy makers, institutions and relevant stakeholders. |
 |
There is a need for further education and research to raise public awareness of Green Growth in the Asia and Pacific region. |
 |
There is a need to strengthen the regional SINGG network by linking to national networks. |
 |
Build further networks (local, NGOs) through the SINGG website (www.singg.org) |
